1. What makes Less & Lavish different?

Less & Lavish was built on the belief that beauty should never come at the expense of health. Every formula is intentionally crafted using high quality natural ingredients selected not only for purity, but for performance. We believe luxury haircare should deliver beautiful results without relying on harsh chemicals, unnecessary fillers, or shortcuts commonly found in conventional beauty.

2. Why do you avoid conventional ingredients commonly found in haircare?

We intentionally avoid ingredients such as silicones, sulfates, synthetic fragrance, parabens, petrochemicals, PEGs, and unnecessary fillers. While many conventional formulas prioritize texture, shelf life, and manufacturing cost, we prioritize ingredient integrity, long term scalp health, and formulas designed to work with the body rather than simply creating temporary cosmetic effects.

3. Why don’t you use silicones in your conditioners?

Silicones are often used to create the immediate feeling of smooth, soft, shiny hair by coating the outside of the hair strand. While this can create beautiful short term cosmetic results, heavy silicone buildup may eventually prevent moisture from properly penetrating the hair shaft and often requires stronger detergents to fully remove. At Less & Lavish, we focus on nourishing the hair itself rather than masking damage temporarily.

4. Why are your products priced differently than conventional haircare brands?

We formulate using premium ingredients, produce in intentionally small batches, and prioritize craftsmanship over mass production. Unlike many conventional beauty products formulated around cost efficiency, every Less & Lavish formula is created with complete attention to ingredient quality, long term hair health, and uncompromising formulation standards.

5. Are natural haircare products as effective as salon or luxury brands?

We believe one of the biggest misconceptions in the beauty industry is that natural products must sacrifice performance. Many natural formulas underperform because they are formulated around trends rather than function. At Less & Lavish, our philosophy has always been simple: natural purity and luxury performance should coexist beautifully.

6. Why do so many natural haircare brands underperform?

Many natural brands prioritize marketing buzzwords over formulation science. Beautiful ingredients alone do not guarantee beautiful performance. 7. Why don’t you use synthetic fragrance?

Synthetic fragrance is one of the most common hidden sources of unnecessary chemical exposure within beauty products. At Less & Lavish, we choose to scent our formulas using carefully selected essential oils and naturally aromatic ingredients because we believe beautiful products should never require unnecessary compromise.

8. Are your formulas safe for sensitive scalps?

Our products are formulated with carefully selected ingredients designed to support scalp health while minimizing unnecessary irritants. We avoid many ingredients commonly associated with irritation, including synthetic fragrance and harsher cleansing agents. Because every individual is different, we always recommend patch testing before introducing any new product into your routine.

9. Why does scalp health matter so much for healthy hair?

Healthy hair begins long before the hair strand itself. The scalp is living tissue, and the condition of the scalp directly influences the environment where hair growth takes place. Product buildup, irritation, inflammation, and poor scalp health can all interfere with healthy hair over time. Beautiful hair begins with a healthy foundation.

10. Why is clarifying shampoo so important?

Many people unknowingly accumulate product residue, excess oils, mineral buildup from hard water, and environmental pollutants on the scalp over time. When buildup accumulates, the scalp environment becomes increasingly compromised. Clarifying properly helps remove this buildup, restore balance to the scalp, and support healthier hair overall.

11. Why does chronic stress affect hair health?

The body is remarkably intelligent and will always prioritize survival first. When the body is under chronic stress, nutrient deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, poor sleep, or ongoing inflammation, it naturally redirects resources toward protecting essential internal systems. 12. Do your hair growth products guarantee faster hair growth?

No product can guarantee hair growth, and we believe in being honest about that. Healthy hair growth is influenced by many factors including hormones, stress levels, overall health, nutrition, circulation, scalp condition, and genetics. Our Hair Growth Concentrate was formulated to nourish the scalp using carefully selected botanical oils and plant extracts traditionally valued for supporting stronger, healthier hair over time.

13. Why don’t you make traditional “hair growth shampoos”?

We believe many hair growth claims within the beauty industry oversimplify a far more complex biological process. Hair growth is deeply connected to internal health, scalp condition, hormones, stress, nourishment, and the body’s overall ability to function well. While cleansing the scalp properly plays an important role in healthy hair growth, we do not believe wash off products alone can create dramatic hair growth results simply by adding trendy ingredients.

14. Can hair products fix hair loss?

Hair loss is often multifactorial. Stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies, inflammation, postpartum recovery, illness, genetics, and scalp health all play important roles. While supportive haircare can improve scalp health and reduce unnecessary breakage, no topical product alone can solve every cause of hair loss. We believe in honest formulation and realistic expectations.

15. Why do ingredients matter so much for scalp health?

The scalp absorbs a surprising amount of what we repeatedly expose it to. Harsh detergents, unnecessary additives, synthetic fragrance, heavy buildup ingredients, and poor formulation choices may disrupt the scalp environment over time. At Less & Lavish, every ingredient is selected intentionally with both scalp health and long term hair integrity in mind.

16. Why don’t you formulate products around trends?

The beauty industry moves quickly and is constantly driven by trends, viral ingredients, and marketing promises. At Less & Lavish, we formulate intentionally and only create products we genuinely believe support long term hair health. We are far more interested in building formulas rooted in integrity than chasing temporary trends.

17. Why do you formulate in small batches?

Small batch formulation allows us to maintain exceptional quality control, freshness, and complete oversight over every product we create. Unlike mass manufactured beauty products, every bottle is produced intentionally and never rushed through large scale production.

18. Do you use preservatives?

Yes, but only thoughtfully selected preservation systems where preservation is necessary for both product safety and stability. We avoid many harsher conventional preservatives whenever possible while ensuring every formula remains safe and effective for use.

19. How long do your products last?

Because we avoid many aggressive synthetic preservation systems commonly used in conventional beauty products, shelf life can vary depending on storage conditions. In general, products should be stored in a cool dry environment and used within approximately 6 to 12 months after opening.

20. Are your products cruelty free?

Always. We never test on animals, and every formula is developed with a strong commitment to ethical sourcing and responsible formulation practices.

21. Where are your products made?

Every Less & Lavish formula is handcrafted in Calgary, Alberta in intentionally small production batches. From formulation to bottling, every product is created with complete attention to detail and uncompromising quality standards.

22. Do you ship throughout Canada and the United States?

Yes. We currently ship throughout both Canada and the United States. Shipping options and delivery rates are calculated automatically during checkout.

23. Do you offer bottle return or refill incentives?

Sustainability matters deeply to us. Customers who return clean, empty bottles for refill programs may qualify for refill discounts. Reusing packaging helps reduce waste while extending the life cycle of every product we create.
